Pocket Ulysses is an add-on module for Ulysses Service Suite that provides mobile service personnel with direct access to their jobs inside the Ulysses application. The application can be operated in on-line or off-line mode which enables mobile personnel to continue working in areas where network coverage is restricted or unavailable . Pocket Ulysses will dramatically improve efficiency between services co-ordinators and remote engineers thus reducing communication and administrative costs. By using Pocket Ulysses, a chargeable call that is completed by the engineer and signed off by the customer, can automatically be sent for invoicing, thus improving cash flow and reducing service administration.

GPS Tracking System

Pocket Ulysses has the capability to track your field staff based on a GPS module built into the PDA device. Real-time view of engineer location is displayed inside the main application which provides management with a complete view of the field service situation. Pocket Ulysses GPS capabilities can bring significant savings on transport costs and help service co-ordinators to more efficiently manage the field service team.

Pocket Ulysses enables Service Engineers to keep in touch with base regardless of their location. An engineer can receive and view details of his Service Jobs via the PDA, log their arrival and completion time, close jobs and apply labour, parts and expenses as required. Pocket Ulysses can communicate with head office in real-time using GSM, GPRS, EDGE or 3G. All data that is transferred to and from the PDA is compressed, and the software provides for user defined periodic synchronisation with the Ulysses database, which reduces data transfer volumes and cost.

Pocket Ulysses is the ideal tool for Field Service Engineers. It is based on devices that use Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5 or 6 such as PDAs and Smartphones. It works on-line and off-line, has a built in SQL server database and allows capture of customer signatures.

Pocket Ulysses will provide many benefits to both Service Co-ordinators and Field Engineers. It provides the engineer with a detailed view of the service issues, from location and contact information, problem description through to service call history on the customer site. The application can manage van stock, and alert the appropriate people when stock is required. Engineers can record time on site, record costs and capture customer sign off upon completion of jobs. Upon synchronisation, chargeable work can be immediately sent for billing, which will reduce administration and improve cash flow.

Customer Signature Capture

The customer can sign off on the work carried out by field service personnel. This signature is dated and encrypted and then sent to the central Ulysses server and attached to the job record. At any time this can be easily printed and sent to the customer as proof of work completed.
