Irish software developer QMS has completed a 450,000 deal to supply Mazda Motors with a new IT system. Under the terms of the Europe-wide contract. QMS has installed Ulysses ts flagship customer relationship management (CRM) solution - across a number of Mazda s European operations.
The system includes a new-centralised European Service Desk (ESD). which tracks and manages all customer phone traffic passing through sales centres throughout Europe. IT consultant Christopher Zenk advised Mazda on the roll-out of the new system. "The smooth introduction of ESD is welcomed by management." he said "There is now a single point of contact for all of Mazda's national sales centres. This would not be possible without Ulysses. In particular, its web capability allows us to extend access to all users in the sales centres, creating a user community of some 2.000 people. This has enormous potential for our roll-out of services." Founded in 1997 by Frank Cole and Duncan Styles. QMS employs 14 people at its offices in Sandymount. It has a turn over of €1 million.
The company initially acted as a re-seller of other software products, but has focused on eveloping and selling its Ulysses in recent years. Ulysses deals with a range of customer-related processes, including sales, service and financial processes. Last year. Bank of Ireland awarded a contract to QMS for a new software system to track and log customer complaints.
Other customers include Cable & Wireless. Dataptc, Primark, Sharptext and PermanentTSB QMS also sells internationally through agents in ten countries, including France. Germany. South Africa and Malaysia. International sales account for about a quarter of total sales but QMS said it planned to increase global sales three fold in the next year. The company has yet to seek outside funding to aid expansion. |
